as we walked into class everyone grabed a paper off the front table and went on about how katherine was only 16 years old on friday. everyone was in disbelief becouse she was a senior. then everyone went ughh as mr becker handed out a scantron and a packet. and calle dit a survey. as everyone took the survey they commenented on how pointless it was or how they didnt like reading. my self didnt think it was to bad. mr becker then talked about the essay due date.and talked about the new text we were gonna read. we went over a powerpoint. i was a little confused and think so was the rest of the class. as we ended the powerpoint the bell rang and everyone left.

I walk into class today with a nervous state of mind because of a presentation for a class later in the day and I realize that today is my day to write scribe notes! As I observe, the students are quiet as usual in the morning. Mr. Becker reminds us that our essay is due friday BEFORE 11:59pm. Don't even try sending your paper in at 11:59pm because the website will not accept it. Then, we took a survey about what we think about reading and our attitude towards it. After that, we recieved notes about the context for Dante's Inferno, a book students in the past seemed to enjoy. Mr. Becker was then explaing Dante the Poet and how his life turned out to be in Italy. Our class had a few minutes left until the hour was over after the announcements were given. Then everyone left as soon as the bell rang.

Like many students in the school, including myself, this has been a very stressful week. Well instead of week, maybe I should say it has been a stressful month in general. It's our first week back from fall break, and I feel that some kids are still in 'break mode'.

As we turned in our first drafts on Monday and have been peer editing since then. I assumed that we would continue on with that today, I guess I was wrong. The first thing we did in class was a reading survey. It asked questions about how we felt about reading, if we liked to read in our spare time, and what we thought of other readers. After the survey, Mr. Becker went on to introduce what we will be reading next, Dante's Inferno. We went through a couple slides discussing the background of the author and what it will be about. As the end of the class became near, Mr. Becker once again reminded everyone that our final copy of our 1984 essay is due by 11:59 pm Friday night. You can turn it in to turnitin.com.
