As I walked into 7th hour today I picked up a packet and Mr. Becker was collecting people's 1984 books. The bell rang and the long hour began. Mr. Becker informed us that our hour had the worse sub report from Thursday, yet our class had the most papers turned in. He decided that he didn't have to give us the long lecture. I was happy I didn't have to sit through yet another lecture of the day! He then told us that there was not much discussion we could have until we got further along with the reading, so he told us that we would be reading cantos 32 and 34. Along with the reading we had to prepare a ten entry dialogue journal. As Mr. Becker walked back to his desk we all faded into silence until the bell rang.
Ashley W. 3rd hour Ahh the dreaded Monday morning. Since we had a three and a half day weekend I feel like everyone is extra tired. I know I am. As I walk into class I see the cantos laying on the table. I do not like reading these cantos of Inferno. They are confusing and have a lot of words that are hard to understand. The bell rings and Mr. Becker has to quiet us down. Everyone has a lot to say bout the weekend. Mr. Becker goes over our assignment from Thursday; when he was absent. He talked about the cantos we were reading for today and tells us we have a ten entry dialogue journal that is due tomorrow. I am thinking in my head that it is going to be another quiet reading/work day. Then Mr. Becker tells us that today didn't have to be this quiet, but it is because of our negative sub report from Thursday. When everything settles down I begin reading the cantos. Cantos XXXII and XXXIII to be exact. These are the ending cantos of Inferno. Dante is the lowest portions of he'll. It is difficult to understand as always and very figurative. Everyone quietly reads and works until there is five minutes left. Then we all pack up and the conversations begin again. The bell rings and we all walk out just like every other day.
