As i walked into class taylor commented on me being so tall. And how me walking behind her made her feel akward. As alsways nick walked into class with a giant smile on his face and already cracking jokes.everyone else found there seats and we got started.Mr.becker then started class with talking about the test we would be taking on wensday. As mr.becker is talking about the test,i hear a sound when i look over i see nick picking up his salisbury steak frozen meal off the ground. Not gonna lie it looked really good. And i was already starving.Mr. becker continued going over the guidelines for the test on wensday.I was a little nervous about it ,and i dont think i was the only one in the class.thats becouse everyone else started freaking out about having to write a paper that was two pages.after the mini freak out mr.becker gave ous class time to work on the cheat sheet for the test on wensday.as everyone was working the bell went off and everyone grabbed there things and left.

Tori P., 7th Hour I stepped throught the doorway just as the one minute bell rang, just like everyother day. But today I there was something different, there was papers on the table, two infact, most days there are none. I glance at the papers and notice that one says "1984 Essay Test" BUMP BUMP BUMP. An essay test, this can't be good, I thought. Then I began looking at the other paper it said "Rise Against Re-Education (Through Labor)" What is that? Then next thing I did was look up to the board, to me it looked like a big blur so, I rooted through my purse and found my glasses, much better. The board had many things listed including, Julien's connection, Essay Test, and disscussion Thursday. So Julien walked to the front of the class and began to explain his connection, he connected 1984 to a song. Lightbulb, that is what the other handout is the lyrics to the song, everything started to fit into place. During Juliens explanation the door opens and all eyes shoot straight there. It was just another student entering the classroom. Julien then presses play and music begins to fill the room. As we listen to the song, the class is just zoning out into space, I sit there wondering if my scribe will be good enough for a sticke. I then realize I need to be thinking of the class so it will be. After Julien was finished we all applauded and Mr.Becker began to explain our essay test. While he was explaining he kept fiddiling with a water bottle sitting on his desk. He explained to us that this is to help us prepare for whats to come in college and also what the word analyze ment. To do so he drew some abstract drawing on the board and then broke it down into shapes we all know. One student in the class then asked Mr. Becker if he was an artist, where Mr. Becker responded with "I majored in art, would you like me to sign it?". After we got over the art lesson, Mr.Becker continued to explain the essay. On the essay we are aloud to use a 30 word preperation, yes you heard me correct 30 word. What is that going to do for me on this 2 page essay. But after further explanation I understood that those 30 words could really get me far. He then went on to explain how he was going to grade it, did i just hear him right did he say he was not grading on grammar and that we don't need a introduction or conclusion paragraph, what more could you ask for. He then showed us a model of the preparation we could use and then let us go to work on our preparation. The next thing you hear is the rumbling of paper and everyone is quietly working. I look up and we have ten minutes left and most students are still deep into there preperations. Then one by one the students come alive again as the time draws closer to 2:20. Ringgggg. The class rushes to the door and our day is over!

I walked into mythology 6th hour thinking that it was just another ordinary day; next thing i know, I get an oh so friendly reminder that it is my priveledge to write the glorious scribe notes. The paper on the front table was, again, forgotten. Malcom and Nathan took the walk of shame; Rachel was too distracted at the moment to sing the song. The forgotten paper explained the MLA format for our work cited page. There were multiple questions on what to do and what no to do with hanging indents. We were all baffled when Taylor explained that it is a feature on Windows 2007. Everyone went silent, but that didn't last long. It was then announced that our Embedding Quote Cheat Sheet was to be done ASAP, and if we had any questions on anything to bother "the guy with the red ben at the end" (Becker). Next, Mr. Becker gave everyone the opprotunity to venture to the writing lab. Three brave souls raised their hands; they traveled light, promising to return. The rest of us were skeptical. After they wandered off, Chaz realizes that he needs to take the journey with them and races after them by himself. Felix walked in a couple of minutes after Chaz left. Nathan, Malcom, and Scott had a group huddle in the far corner of the room. They were discussing the game plans for their revisions. For awhile all you could hear was papers shuffling, mouse clicking, and tiny peeps of discussion coming from the "forbidden corner." With about 5 minutes left, Sarah and Zach start conversation about their after school plans. Then right before the bell rang, the fantastic four returned telling stories of their voyage and holding their re-printed papers held proudly in their hands. So to summarize this all up, the main objective of the day was to work and revize your cosmogony paper.

1st Hour

The clock strikes 7:25. Each senior grudgingly drags themselves into the classroom, teary eyed from relentless yawning. As I lounge into the classroom, I do so in a slightly different manner, and, if one were to look closer, one could see a mere twinkle of guilt about my face. I creep to my desk and set down my book bag, which at the moment felt like a hundred pounds on my shoulder. Like a shy puppy dog, I ease my way to Mr. Becker’s desk. After what seems like a mile walk, I finally make it. Our eyes meet. A hundred different thoughts are going through my head. Then I open my mouth only to reveal the obvious, that something bad had happened. “Mr. Becker,” I sighed, “My boss threw away my book for this class.” There. I said it. It was done. “But,” I managed to say, “I went and bought another one.” Seeming like minutes before he spoke, Mr. Becker looked at my shameful eyes and told me it was okay. He even apologized for my inconvenience. I felt like another hundred pounds had been lifted off my shoulders. I walked back to my desk, and by this time class had begun and every student had taken their place.

Through our watery eyes, we see Mr. Becker stand in the front of the classroom. We attempt to give him our full attention, as he begins explaining our accomplishments for the day. “An Essay Test,” he announces, “will be issued to each of you tomorrow.” With silent groins and sighs, we all exchange disappointed glances, “But,” he said, “I am allowing you to prepare for it today.” A muted wave of relief seemed to wash over everyone in the class. Everyone except me. It didn’t matter what happened today, I was still going to be upset that my boss threw away my book. Besides, today was my day for scribe notes. Either was I was going to have homework.

Mr. Becker then begins explaining the context of the prompt for the essay, which I understandably forgot to pick up by the front door at the beginning of class. As he is talking my mind begins racing about what I should write my scribe notes about. I nervously started shuffling through my brain for thoughts, seeing as though I had never written scribe notes before. In the midst of my mental chaos, I hear a few words Mr. Becker is saying about the prompt. I realize I have missed a lot of this conversation, and decide to ultimately give up and begin reading the prompt on my own. I simply gaze through it as a question about the material arises in my head. I raise my hand as Mr. Becker is still explaining. I hear him say “Don’t ask me how long it has to be, just make it 45 minutes long.” I nonchalantly put my hand down, as he has unknowingly answered my question.

The rest of the class period, I made sure to pay attention.
