Kevin P. 7th Hour. I walk into class known as the "scribe", one of those words that puts you right back to the age of the egyptians, for me at least. Theres no better way to start out the day than with Mr. Beckers "Oh my God" mimiking the girls in the hall with his girly voice which only few elite men can do. From my seat I cant even read the board, if that says page 189 or 188, so I just started reading from page 189. We all read the assigned two or three pages before starting our discussion about the reading. Finally Mr. Becker tells us why the book is useful and how we can relate it to our American history and war. Which reminds me and im shure some of you guys that we have to make connections still. As the discussion progresses more and more people stop talking, there has never been a discussion with as many awkward silences as this one. So, Mr. Becker develops a stragey, "knock on your desk if you read this reading". Suprisingly there were quite a few knocks. More reading from the book, everyone with white books are wishing that they would have taken the black hardback books everyone else had so that they did not have to scramble through to find where everyone else was. The process of "breaking down" O'Brians orders was established although every single person in the class had something to say about having to throw sulfuric acid into a childs face. I look over, and Josh is leaning 2 coasters up aganist eachother and is trying to put some kind of homemade ice-cream dish on them. Not gonna work Josh, I thought. Sometimes I think we bring up things during discussion that Mr. Becker hasent thought of himself, like the parallelism of Winstons diary to that of Goldsteins book. We end the day with Mr. Arnel announcing Homecoming Court and the shout of Mr. Becker saying that we dont get any time in class for the next section. But that dosent matter to me! Im going to Italy! Hey that rhymes! :)

Jared Wuest 3rd hour. I walked into class and sat down at my desk, when Mr.Becker remind me that today was my day to be the scribe. I told him that i already knew that and then Nick came in asking Mr.Becker if he knew what was in his plastic grocery bag. Then he threw it on the ground and bounced it. Mr.Becker was stumped so nick told him that it was 5 pounds of silly putty. after that the bell rang and we all got are books out and we started the discussion. Mr.Becker started class out by having us read some pages out of the book. they were the most boring part of the book, so i skimmed the pages. After everyone was done reading we discussed the three different country and what land made them up. after that discussion we talk about the war and how by switching sides kept the hatred in the people of oceania. the next subject was O’Brian who i don’t trust in the book but every one else seemed to like him and think he was a good person. then the bell rang and class was over
