Drew M. 7th hour

As i walk into class i see Mr.Becker checking a students quote assingment that we were assinged two days ago. When we got the assingment he told us if we did it perfect the first time we get a 13/10 which made everyone work harder to get that score. The bell rings and he does the usual thing he always does which is tell us what we will be doing today which is working on our quote worksheet. He tells us if we get a perfect score he will ring a bell so everyone would know. this made everyone want to get a perfect score so they would get to make everyone be jealous that you got a perfect score and the bell would be rung. After hearing about this reward everyone crowded around Mr.Becker's desk so he told everyone to sit back down and wait so nobody would be crowding around him. As everyone sat down we all waited anxiously to get up to his desk and see if we would get a perfect score and have the bell ring. Finally its my turn and i walk up to his desk waiting to see if i got a perfect score. I didnt as i sit down again there's only five minutes left so i pack up all my stuff along with everyone else and we all wait for the bell to release us from school and let us go home.

Ashley Werle 3rd hour As I walked into class I overheard a conversation going on. I found out that we won't be taking very many ACT prep tests this year. Considering I need to get my reading score up on my ACT this disappointed me. Mr. Becker started class and told us that we were to work on our embedding quotes worksheet and when we were finished to read pages 138-165 in 1984 and that we are having our next discussion on Monday. We were also told that if we get our quotes checked the first time and they were perfect then we would get a 13/10. Extra credit! We would also receive a bell of excellence from Mr. Becker. He gave us a demo of it, and it wasn't very loud some people pointed out. Everyone was so excited to have their quotes checked, well atleast most of the class. When I went to have my quotes checked I had 2 errors so I didn't receive a bell of excellence...sad face. Slowly everyone had their worksheets checked and rechecked until they were perfect. The excited attitude from the beginning of the hour slowly dwindled away as people corrected their work. At the end of the hour only 4 bells of excellence were given out of 22 people. With a few minutes left everyone packed up their things. Then finally the bell rang and everyone slowly walked out.

Jordan P, 1st Hour

I walked into class in a hurry as I was tardy and wanted to avoid disrupting class as much as possible. As I walked in I looked at the board and saw the board and what we would be doing in class. Mr.Becker tells us to begin working on our embedding quotes worksheet and to try to finish it by the end of the hour. We are reminded that the next discussion over section 135-168 is on Monday. Silence than enters the atmosphere as the rest of the classmates and myself bury our noses into our books. As I slowly do my worksheet I become less and less focused, my mind wanders off as usual. After a few minutes zoning out, I realize that I seem to be the only person in class that isn't working so I regain my focus and find what I need to find. I watch as my fellow classmates go up to get their worksheets checked than proceed to go back and fix them. No one seems to be able to get their paper perfect and receive the extra 3 points. With this goal in the back of my mind, I cautiously check my paper, trying to be sure that it is mistake free. Towards the end however, I had become careless and on the very last line I had made my only mistake, I had forgotten to include the citation after the statement. One of the easiest things in citing quotes, I had forgotten to do. Though it was frustrating double checking the paper for nothing in the end, it wasn't too bad. 10 out of 10 is fine and enough for me, no one actually received the extra credit in the end and according to Mr. Becker only 2 students total have managed to do so in the past. As the class comes to a close, the announcements come on for a short period of time. As the bell rings it has almost a Pavlov's dog effect on us students as everyone immediately gets up and precedes to leave the classroom. Mr. Becker reminds us once again of the discussion on Monday and than bids goodbye as we walk out of the classroom, only to comeback the next morning.
