i sit in my seat and hear the many voices if my fellow classmates which is usually, blah blah blah. i am getting everything ready and hhear patrick and DJ considering th eidea of wearing the same Harry Potter shirt on the same day.Next is attendance. pretty basic. next i hear someone sneeze followed by choruses of "bless you"s We turn in homework and discover that most kids cannot figure out what one page is. All of a sudden i hear the word pears, yes peras, and then a Harry Potter reference, who could that be?Mr. Becker tells us to fill out our book cards and begins a intriguing lecture on craetion stories in a movie trailor voice. we then begin on a navejo story and fill out some worksheets and with that the bell rings and we head off to our other classes. Josh B., 7th hour Day, August 17th. Class English IV...er...Senior lit and comp...um...Pick whichever one you like. The class started like any other. The pale white walls sucking the life out of it's inhabitants. There were not the usual dreaded papers by the table, but it was only false hope. For today we all knew the horror that abounds. As the bell rang we all got to our seats and felt the joy of the passing period, our small pieces of freedom, being torn away from us. We started with the usual attendance. The overseer, commonly known as the teacher, called names while the prisoners, commonly known as students, responded. After roll was called a fellow prisoner was given the opportunity to recount her view on the previous days events. As she finished her recount we were told to go to our groups. We obeyed knowing that we were less than an hour to freedom. We were told to examine our work from the previous days, a task that went smoothly for most. For others the lack of certain members caused havoc for the members who needed to find their work on that members files. As we awaited the time alloted to pass I watched the clock with close anticipation, realizing that I had not the slightest clue when I would be free of the institution. When the alloted time ended we were told to go to our seat. We were then called up in specific orders to present our research information. Much to my dismay, my group went first. We were thankfully able to present easily with little error and were able to re attend our seats quickly. We watched as other groups were required to go up. Each group had it's own strengths, exploring different aspects of the soon to be required reading. As it was, however, that managed to take up the rest of the class time. As we approached what seemed the end of class I checked the clock to see that about half an hour had passed. I rejoiced as the bell rang freeing the prisoners from the institution...at least for now.
Paige B., 1st Hour As the last bell chimmed, letting students know 1st hour has begun, Mr. Becker swiftly walks through the door announcing that students have five minutes to complete the quick and dirty assignment. Mr. Becker rushed to take attendence, acknowledging students were present when they said here. Students scrammbled to their designated groups trying to beat the timer of getting their presentaions finished. The lasting five minutes was up and the presentations began. Communism was first group, then gradualy came socialism. After them two groups the third group, totalitarianism went up to present. After this group presented Mr. Becker let the very quite and tired first hour know that he forgot to give a group Joseph Stalin. As that went along he described a few facts and details about Stalin. 1987 grounp was up next, then the George Orwell group. Waiting for the bell to ring, sitting so still, ready for the day to move on, there came the community cards. Learned a few more things about some of the students. Lastly came the ammouncements with only five mins left. At last you hear the bell ringing like joy, finally time to move on to the next class.
