Dillon H. 3rd hour. I get into class and Nick is telling Mr.Becker that we should write a novel instead of reading one for next unit, which he was not too found about. Then we start class by getting out a piece of paper for the ACT formative we will be taking today. He also explains that if you miss less than 4, then you will get 5 bonus points. Before we started, Mr. Becker tells us about the can food competition between all of the 3rd hours that will be going on and if we win we will get a doughnut party. So we all agreed that we would compete and that we have to have the cans in by next friday. Then we all began quietly taking the formative, some not happy with it but must take it anyway. After we were done, most people began to read the next section in Rebecca for the discussion we will be having tomorrow.
Janna 1st- Thursday November 11th, just another normal day of high school. Wake up, get ready and drag yourself to school. Not many people were aware of the special day in history for our country, Veterans Day! The day started off just the same. Students slowly made their way into the room and to their desks before the final tardy bell rang. Some read the board and are aware of what Mr. Becker has planned for the hour, an ACT formative... yippee! He instructs us to get out a piece of paper and put our names at the top. As he is passing out the formative packets, he explains that this is not for a grade but if you score a 90% or better on it, you will receive extra credit. We all got right to work so we could quickly finish the 30 question assignment and start reading for our next discussion on the following day. One by one we finished our assignment and turned then in on the cart in the middle of the room and got our books out and began reading. Towards the end of the hour Dr. Arnel came over the intercom to start the Veteran's Day festivities. We started with a moment of silence and he followed with how proud he was of the school for yesterdays lock down situation. Mrs. Cissell followed with the rest of the daily announcements and finally the bell for dismissal, following the bell was a song to pump everyone up for Veteran's Day.
