This year, I hope my English class is at least fairly entertaining. I'm actually somewhat excited to read 1984 and The Picture of Dorian Gray- my stepfather is an Oscar Wilde fan, and I'm curious as to what all the fuss is about. I also hope that you can somehow relate to all of us, as that seems to make for a more easy-going class, especially since this hour SEEMS to have some interesting people in it! I kind of enjoy writing essays, provided they have some sort of a creative flair added to them (I'm a nerd and proud of it!). Obviously, I hope to get a fairly decent grade...which for me is a B or higher. Furthermore (big word of the day!^_^), I expect a challenging class that I would ASSUME requires a lot of reading and thinking, as well as discussion. Let me warn you, I'm a fairly quiet student in class. I prefer to absorb everybody else's thoughts before coming to my own conclusion. And with that, I'm off to do what I do best....absolutely nothing!

This year, I hope my English class is semi-challenging. I hope it’s not pointless like my English class was last year. Last year the class was a joke and nobody learned anything. I hope my English class this year has a point to it. I would actually like to learn something this year so I can try and prepare myself for college. In fact, I’m excited that we’re going to read books this year in my English class because we definitely didn’t do that last year. However, I hope they won’t be boring books and I hope they are easy to understand. This year, I hope my English class is fun but where I still learn something at the same time. I look forward to learning how to write better because I’ve never really been taught how to do so in the past, I’ve always been able to take the easy way out. This year, I hope my English class is the best English class I’ll ever have.
This year, I hope my English class helps me improve my skills and prepare me for college. I want to be able to have my writing flow through easily and not be confusing. I had you last year and I would say at the end of the year I improved a lot. I'm excited to read these books as well. I hope i can focus on the material and be able to understand them better. I always have a hard time concentrating on books that are boring, so i also hope that they intrest me. I hope that by taking this class will make me a more confident writer and not being afraid to just put it all out there. I hope to learn alot from this class and take it with me throughout the years. College is all about tests and essays so i better get started now. I also hope to get an A or a B in this class. I think I can do it if i work myself hard enough.
This year, I hope my English class is enlightening, exciting, and very educational. I hope to learn a lot and be prepared for college and the real world. My goal is to be able to improve my writing so I can be successful someday. I want to be more confident in my writing and improve my writing skills and I hope this class will help me to do this. I also hope that reading novels will improve my reading and vocabulary skills. Reading novels will also stimulate my imagination. Reading novels takes me to the world of the characters in it and makes me see things in a different perspective. However, reading is not something I enjoy. I mainly do it to get information and to learn more about the world. I really like to read about history and famous poets. I hope this class does that. I have a good imagination and I hope this class will expand it and make me a more interesting writer. I hope that this class won't be too hard for me. Writing takes a lot of time and effort for me. I find writing frustrating.
This year, I hope my English class is fun but challenging as well. I love a good challenge it drives me to do my best and work hard. You can always expect me to get all my work done whenever assigned. I'm excited that we get to write a lot, because I want to have a career as a sportswriter and any extra practice in completing that goal will help me get even closer. I'm really looking forward to reading all the novels assigned. Which is something we didn't do in my class last year. I'm hoping I earn an A or at least B which will require a lot of hard work and studying which I will be more than willing to do. Oh and I can be a little quiet in class, but most of the time I do speak up and give my opinion. Sometimes it takes me a while to think what I should say, but once I overcome that then I'll be fine.
This year, I hope my English class will be adventurous and unpredictable. Last year I had the privilege of taking an honors course and learned so much more than I had in previous years of Communication Arts classes. Lets just hope that I did not forget it all over the summer! I am kind of a procrastinator when it comes to school and lets just say that senioriritis set in on me during second quarter of my sophomore year, so this year I hope I can maintain my focus and keep my grades up for my gpa’s sake. I remember Mr.Becker mentioning something in class about group discussions which kind of scare me, but I love the idea of learning by discussing in the classroom while getting to hear others perspectives and what their interpretations on literature are. On the adventurous side of this English class I would like to think that I try to think outside the box so to speak and not just go back to old and boring theme’s, instead explore something new and original to me. Lastly I would rather the teaching style be somewhat unpredictable and fresh rather than stagnant and not creative. Looking forward to time in class with everyone and this year in general
