The "inferno" has been challenging to understand for me but once i am able to figure some of Dante's thoughts out i am fairly interested on what his views are. It is also interesting because The Inferno was written in the middle ages and was, in that present time, a historical reference to what afterdeath was like before Christ. Even today Dante's Inferno can be referred to as a hisirical reference since some people are in belief of his views. Another Interesting Point is how Dante describes Hell and its Punishments. Hell's environment seems very light weighted compared to many of today's religious beliefs of hell.

So far, Dante's Inferno is very difficult to follow, mainly due to the confusing wording and how it jumps around alot. What i have understood though was very interesting because hell is obviously an unstudied subject. It is intriguing to hear someone's ideas of what hell might be like because everyone is going to have a different opinion. I, much like many others, are fascinated by the unknown. I think it is very creative how Dante plays up the punishments and coincides them with the actual sinful deed. I find it hard to believe that individuals whom have led sinless and pure lives will be condemned to hell, but that is my own religous views. But i do respect the point that he at least put them into a decent part of hell. The reading so far has been very on edge because you want to know what happens next and if he meets the devil, or how the deepest parts of hell will be like.
